Last weekend Glenn & I went to the NJ Fiber Festival. I couldn't post what I purchased because they were gifts! The gifts have been given so here's my post.
First off I want to say the festival was really nice. They didn't have a lot of yarns but the yarn they did have was really nice. There were two barns of yarn and lots and lots of sheep. It was worth the one hour ride but I'd love for it to be bigger next year. We only stayed about an hour or so but was worth it. We talked to some people and bought stuff and it was yarn so what's not to love??
The two yarns I purchased were gifts for Allyson & Rich.
On the left is the yarn for Allyson. It's Bittersweet Woolery Glamour Gams MCN Sock Yarn in Black Dragonfly. Lovely, smooshy and right up Allyson's alley. I love when a yarn just screams someone's name. Allyson loves blues and I thought she'd make something gorgeous with this, although I have to say, she makes something gorgeous with any yarn.
On the right is Wandering Wool North Country Sock in the Cranberry Bog. As soon as I saw this I thought of Rich. As he says "When I choose a color, I choose a color!" He's partial to deep jewel tones and I thought this would be a perfect skein of yarn for him. I can't wait to see what he makes with this.
In the middle is my gift to me! It's a gorgeous hand made shawl pin in the shape of a G Clef. Since I was a music student, long ago & far away, this caught my eye. Here's a better shot of it:
Ok maybe taking a photo of silver on gray wasn't the smartest idea but you can still see it. It's from Cacklin' Hen Designs and I just love it. I wasn't in the market for a shawl pin but couldn't resist this.
So as you can see all in all it was a great trip. Glenn & I really enjoyed ourselves and feel like we're warmed up for Rhinebeck. I can't believe it's only a month away!
