Old Loves, New Love

Glenn and I decided to head out to Long Island, or as the natives pronounce it Lawn Gisland, to do some shopping at one of the malls. Long Island has a lot of malls!

While there we sat to have a coffee and I whipped out my knitting. I started Kathy's pair of socks and I'm doing the Lacy Mock Cable Socks which can be found here. I've knit these a few times and really like them. I cast them on last night and was so happy to have Blue Moon Fiber Arts yarn in my hands again. It's been a while since I've knit with it and I realized how much I really like it. It's a medium weight mill end so it has no name but the colors are lovely.

It's got brownish/red, yellow and almost a salmon color to it. I can't wait to see how it looks all knit up. With this weight and this sock pattern, Kathy's feet will never be cold again! Or until she has to wash them anyway.

Glenn was walking around while I was knitting and he came back and asked me if Bobby Flay had a burger restaurant. I told him yes and he told me that there was one right there in the mall! Needless to say we had lunch at Bobby Flay's Burger Palace. I ordered the Buffalo Style Burger and Glenn got the Blue Burger. This was, hands down, the best burger I've ever had even if I only had half a burger. Here's mine:

Angus meat, hot sauce, blue cheese and watercress. Killer.

Here's Glenn's Bobby Blue Burger:

Angus meat, blue cheese, bacon, lettuce & tomato. Another winner. Juicy and tasty. He ate the whole thing and said it was delicious and satisfying. In my opinion there's nothing better than a perfectly made burger.

Shopping, knitting, a delicious lunch and Glenn all together in one day. Doesn't get much better than this.

Yay for lawn island! Where I live, though I didn't pick up the accent. And yes, we do have malls though as close as they are, the farther I try to stay away from them:)) happy knitting! ( I'm a weaver)

Those burgers (or as the natives say...boygaz!) look to die for! Must try next time I visit my cousins. :D

1- You came out here and didn't tweet me??? And if you were at Roosevelt Field, that doesn't count at LI cause they're all pretend-city people.

2- I'd say it's more Lown Island...completely leaving out the "g". I think Voolenvine has LI confused with Staten Island though...lol. I certainly don't know anyone who says it like that hehe
