I Am Loved

I know it's late for a Valentine's Day post but here ya are.

After almost twenty five years of marriage, my husband truly knows the way to my heart. Cash. Cold hard cash. He's realized that the gifts I love are knitting gifts and must be chosen by me. And that's a good thing because he couldn't tell the difference between a crochet hook and a pair of Signature needles.

For Valentine's Day he gave me money and let me get whatever I wanted. This is what I wanted:

From the left we have Tuscan Grove Venice in Red Pepper Flake which I bought from a destasher on Ravelry. Love the rich colors and the variegation (new word?) in the yarn. It really looks like the pepper you put on pizza!

The other yarn is from the newly formed Cephalapod Yarns and it's Skinny Bugga in Montauk Monster. It's a lovely grey and, I have to admit, the name intrigued me. If you want to see the original Montauk Monster, you can google it. I was going to post a photo but it's way too ugly and gross. I love the idea of this gorgeous yarn named after the nasty monster though. It cracked me up!

And last but certainly not least, I got a pair of Signature dpns in size 1 for socks. The last set of needles I got were 6" but wanted to try the 8" so that's what I got. Now all I need are the 1.5 and 2.5 and I'm all set with these needles. I think.

All three of these packages came today while I was knitting and listening to knitting podcasts. So far, today rocks! And so does my husband.
