These have become my go to socks. It's a really easy pattern and looks lovely so when I can't decide what to make or want something mindless, which is much too often, I whip up a pair of these.
The yarn is Shelride Farm Soft Touch Heather in charcoal. Lovely lovely yarn. It's both very wooly and soft feeling and I love the way it looks.
The one thing I did notice is that they're a bit large on me. My usual practice has been to make my socks on needles either a full or half size larger than the pattern calls for but now that I've lost so much weight, I think I can start knitting on the size needles that are called for in the pattern. Another milestone for me.
I'm working on a gorgeous pair of socks for my niece. They're another pair from the brilliant book Socktopus by Alice Yu. This go round I'm doing V Junkie in Malabrigo sock yarn which is like buttah. Oddly enough, there's no color on the label. Dunno if this is common practice for Malabrigo. It's a pea green variegated yarn and I love it. The pattern and yarn really suit each other and I can't wait till they're done.
