I Lied.

What did I lie about? That Christmas knitting thing. I usually don't knit gifts for Christmas because anybody I knit for, gets knitted goods throughout the year. This year we have a few new additions. My friend Lisa, who had surgery with me and we shared a room, and her husband Edgardo and Glenn's girlfriend. They're all very appreciative of knitted goods, so I've broken my "no knitted gifts" rule this year.

I was going to make a lovely Star Crossed Beret for Glenn's girlfriend. I've made it before and it's gorgeous and I was going to make it to match the mitts I made her last month. As I told Glenn this, he looks at me and says "Oh she'd love socks." Ok looks like it went from a two day project to a week long project but that's ok she's worth it. I'm also gonna make her the beret though. I know she'll love it.

I made Lisa a pair of socks when we first met and she tells me all the time how much she loves them so I know that she'd love another pair. I'm going to use BMFA Socks That Rock in a mill end which is a lovely light brown color. Gonna have to find a pattern that's quick and easy though! I'll make her husband a nice London Beanie like the ones I make my husband. They're simple and warm as can be.

I've only got a couple of weeks to get this done and I'm hoping I'm up to it. Next thing I want to do is look at my knitting resolutions from last year, see how many I didn't keep and put them on this year's list!

I wish you luck in finishing your projects in time for the holidays - and yes, finishing in the car does count as "on time".

Good luck! I just did some selfish knitting for me, me, me.
