Socks, Brooklyn, Ysolda Oh my!

Yesterday I went to Brooklyn to meet up with Ria and get my knit on. First we had to stop and have lunch at the delicious Calexico. I''m not a grits girl but they have grits there that are so incredibly delicious that Ria and I had to share an order. Then I bought one later to take home! If you ever get out to Brooklyn General, it's a must see and it's just a few doors down! So this is what I was working on:
That was what my sock looked like when I got to Calexico. Last night I turned the heel, did the gusset and I'm on my way to the toe! I'm hoping to have this pair done by Tuesday. This is a great pattern and I think it highlights the multi colors of the yarn I'm using. I have a pair of socks in these exact same colors so these will be gifted to someone but I'm not sure who just yet. Also while at Brooklyn General something caught my eye.
I've wanted this book for a while and was happy to find it. There are several patterns in here I really like but I wanted it specifically for the Snapdragon Flip-Top mittens. I really love Ysolda's books. She gives you all the information you need for each project and she does her sweaters in lots of sizes so you don't have to do the math to make them bigger! Can't wait to see her new book Little Red In The City. Maybe she'll be at Rhinebeck selling it next week!

I'm already planning how to replicate those crazy-good grits at home. I'm going to have to bribe someone for the crack sauce recipe, I think! ;)
