A Save and a Beauty
So which should I do first, the save or the beauty? Let's do it alphabetically.
I met up with Allyson yesterday and we decided to go to Madison Square Park for an eat and knit. The park was having it's Madison Square Eats event and we couldn't resist. There are a bunch of vendors you can read about in the link including their menus. I decided I had to have Roberta's pizza. I got the Margherita pizza and here it is:
Sauce, cheese and bits of basil on a paper thin crispy crust which made in a wood fired oven. This was delicious beyond words. I hate to say it but it beat out Totonno's on Coney Island which has been my favorite for a long time. Allyson wound up having tacos from Calexico which is where Ria and I had lunch over the weekend. Another killer lunch. And a good time was had by all.
Now here's the save:
I had enough yarn for the socks! Those are Patrick's big ass feet modeling them for me. Apparently his feet didn't grow from the time I cast on till the time I bound off. Yay!
My next pair of socks were going to be using Socks that Rock medium weight but I couldn't find a quick easy pattern for them so I decided to swap out yarn and save the STR yarn for when I'm not in a rush to get four pair of socks done in four weeks. Back to the stash drawing board. I reach in and found a really pretty light pink yarn. I pull out the label and lo and behold it was some Sanguine Gryphon Eidos. Score, babycakes! I found a fingering weight pattern I really like in my book Favorite Socks 25 Timeless Designs from Interweave. This book never lets me down. So I've just begun and I'll let you know how it goes.

4 Talk to me:
Yay for having enough yarn to finish the socks! And yay that Patrick's feet took a rest from growing! Somedays, doesn't it seem like teenagers wake up taller than when they went to sleep?!!
I have big ass feet myself and I'm always afraid I'm going to run out of yarn!
The socks look great! The colorway actually looks like a Sanguine Gryphon color...maybe you had some extra in your stash :o)
How much yarn did you end up having left?
