Not Socks
My son, Glenn, asked me to knit something for one of his teachers. He never asks for anything so there was no way I could turn him down. He's had the same Spanish teacher for three years now and thought she'd love a hand made beret from yours truly so I was all over that. I found the Dandelion Beret pattern by Jen Adams and fell in love with it. Not only was it a great pattern but I had the perfect yarn for it Sanguine Gryphon's Traveller in Monkey's Eyebrow. Love the name of that color! Here it is being blocked on one of our dinner plates.
It's in the sink drying and I didn't think I'd have a chance to photograph it before Glenn snatches it up and runs with it. I love the black/brown in this yarn and it's sooooo soft! I'm really looking forward to making socks with some SG yarn.
I bound that off this morning and just cast on Petunia Dursley's Double Eyelet Socks by Erica Lueder. As you know I do love a Harry Potter design and here we are again! This pair is for Patrick and will be knit in the Yarn Chef yarn I mentioned in an earlier post.
Off to the country for a weekend of knitting and college hunting. Wish me luck!

What a lucky teacher! Great work - the colorway works so well with that pattern.
Love it!!!!
Very nice! And how very nice that your kids wear hand knit socks. I can barely bring myself to knit socks for me; I can't imagine knitting on, and on, and on for my Sasquatch children!
Oooo what schools are you looking at?
YOWZA! Beautiful!
