Bike Yarn Bomb
Patrick was on his way to school the other day and called me.
"Mom you're not gonna believe this! I just passed the library and there's a bike parked there that got yarn bombed!"
I figured someone got the handlebars but boy was I wrong. Glenn went to the store and sent me this photo.
Isn't that amazing? I'd hate to have to cut it off but I'm sure it had to be done.
I love that my guys look out for me.

That is fabulous!
Thanks for your comment about knitting socks for the troops. I don't recall how many I knit as I didn't keep count. I can just say, it was ALOT of men's socks. I knit them of Regia Stretch because it is machine wash and dry, a must for the military. The troops I heard from told me consistently, that the military socks were not warm and their feet froze on night duty. Since they are not allowed to wear any socks but military, I got around it (and the troops loved it) by knitting wool that could be worn under their regulation socks. It was a great hit. Just need to mention a couple of things. For guys, the inches from ribbing to beginning the heel flap must be at least 19" long as it must go above their boot tops. What my guys did was wear two pair, mine and the military and they said their feet were never cold after that. The wool underneath the issue sock was warm and stayed warm. I also knit an unknown number of watch caps of wool. The military issue is synthetic and the guys all had the same complaint--not warm and fell apart easily. Please email me if you have questions. God bless you. Sandy
I'm GOING to do a yarn bomb one of these days; Mississippians won't know what to do about it!
AAAAAaaaaaaaahhhhhh this is AWESOME!!! I just shared this with my Mom... we need to plan a yarn bomb attack on one of my sisters soon :) You've been blogging away lately, it's awesome! Loved catching up on your knitting projects!
Maybe it's not a yarn bombing; maybe it's an art installation? I'd hate to think that someone cut it off so they could ride away. Is it still there?
Great colors, but I always feel the pain of the chilled, impoverished folks that could have benefitted from a hat when I see yarn used for art installations. I'm the kid of kids who grew up in the depression..what can I say?
