Busy Busy!

It's been a while between blog posts lately because we've been a busy household and I haven't gotten as much knitting done as I'd like. The boys have been keeping me busy with summer assignments for Patrick and Glenn attending the College Now program at Hunter College, which has been a great experience so far for him.

I did manage a little trip to Brooklyn this weekend though to meet up with Ria for some knitting and chatting. Ok maybe a bit more chatting than knitting but that's just the way I like to roll.

I got about halfway through my Summer Lovin' socks and decided I didn't want to do them so I ripped them down and started another pair of the Lace Rib socks. I'm now about 3/4 of the way done with the first sock and I look down and see a mistake. Ugh. Normally I would just keep going but this was such a glaring mistake, and these socks are a gift, that I ripped it down to where the mistake was. Actually Ria ripped it down and picked up all the stitches for me. Thank you Ria! I'm so impatient that it's very difficult for me to pick up stitches so Ria volunteered and lickety split she had me up and running again. It's nice to have knitting fairy godmothers!

I did manage a little shopping. I got one skein of Madeline Tosh Merino Light in Celedon which is gorgeous. I hope to be able to use it soon but at the rate I'm knitting lately, it may be a while. I'm thinking I may use it for my first shawl. That's right, I said shawl! I'm dying to make one and I think this is a good time to get one on the needles. If I ever finish this damn pair of socks that is!
