I know I've written about my love for Namaste bags before but I didn't know how great the company was until recently.
I got a red Laguna for Christmas from Glenn err Santa this past Christmas. I was so excited that I got exactly what I wanted! I guess it helped that I sent Santa an email with a link to the exact product I wanted and the exact store I wanted it purchased from. Yes, I have Santa Claus's private email. Lemme know if you want it.
I used the bag when Al and I went to the City Bakery knit night and it was the only time I took it out. A week or so later, I noticed a small tear in the material on the outer pocket. I contacted Suzy at Hip Mountain Mama to let her know about the bag. She wrote back and said she'd contact the Namaste girls and let them know about it. Within a day or so I received an email with a UPS label to send the bag in. Wow that was good service! I sent the bag in and got an email from Kelly at Namaste stating that they repaired the small tear with a material paint which they were going to send to me in case I had this problem again. Hmmm. I wrote back to Kelly explaining that I had only had this bag out one time and I thought the damage was excessive considering that it was a brand new bag. I understand that things wear out but I figured this was a defective bag because it had been used only once. I have to admit I was a disappointed in this solution and let her know this in my usual New York manner. She then wrote me back apologizing saying that she thought that I'd had the bag for a while and that this was wear and tear that occurs with bags and that, of course, they'd replace my old bag with a brand new one! I wrote back thanking her and eagerly awaited for my package to arrive.
So if you're shopping for a great bag with terrific customer service, consider buying a Namaste bag.
Oh in the meantime I saw a killer sale and bought a Peacock colored Laguna. Don't hate me because I'm a bag ho.

What excellent customer service! It really does go a long way.
PS. Bag hos unite! ;-)
In the old days, when they made the messenger bag in guy colors I bought one straight away! I too had an initial problem and they sent me a new one with no questions asked. I've had it now for maybe 5-6 years. It's still brand new and I take it everywhere! Enjoy it!
That's really great of them to replace it!
I've nominated you to receive the Sunshine Award! You can check out my blog for more details and to receive your award.

Ooh, I am so glad to hear that you love them! I just ordered a red Laguna and Peacock Zuma. I saw them at Stitches West and have been thinking about them ever since. I know that I will love the Laguna but I do have doubts about the straps on the Zuma. Do you have any experience with that one?
That is amazing service! I remember when you posted about this bag. It's beautiful, I'm glad they took care of it for you!
As if they weren't awesome already! Vegetarian me won't buy leather so the faux and great looking material they use I loooove. Someday one of these will be in my budget...or maybe I'll just have to take you up on Santa's email :o)
I love Namaste bags - I have the same one in green. I'm so glad they replaced it - enjoy using it!
I'm in the market for a good knitting bag. My main problem with these kinds of things is that I don't get a lot of chances to see what they look like when in use and how much they can carry. Any chance you can take some pics?
I'm glad to hear they did the right thing by you. They're such nice bags - it makes me happy to know they're made by really decent folks! :)
I'm so happy to hear all the positive comments about these bags because I just bought two online and I'm waiting patiently for it to be delivered since one of them is backordered right now. I'm getting the Peacock Zuma for every day and the larger Eggplant Hermosa bag for my bigger projects. I'm a bag 'ho in training :)
That's awesome, I love hearing great customer service stories!
Great customer service, and great asking on your part. If you don't ask, you don't get! (as we used to say when we lived in NY)
Wow that really is great service!
From one bag ho to another, your Namaste bag is awesome. And if you never ask for what you need, you'll never get it.
if I didn't need to hoard my pennies so we can pay the power bill, I'd be all over that new Monroe bag they've got. I'm jonesing for a red one BAD.
You are going to need a three bedroom when the boys go to college, one for you and Glenn, one for your yarn, and one for your bags! Great that they stepped up and stood by their product. So rare these days.
