Glenn named this post and, in light of the Olympics, I decided that it was a cute name for a post about a trio of hats.
These are the three hat's I've knit for my niece's baby. They're two patterns I found on Ravelry in three different sizes. Quick knits, not even a full day for each.
We found out this week she's having a girl so I'll have another goddaughter! Now that I know this, I'm going to have to find some lovely cashmere blend pink yarn. I love pink but don't have many reasons to knit pink things. Let me rephrase. I didn't have many reasons to knit pink things but I do now!
I've been knitting other things while watching the Olympics these last few days. I'm an Olympicaholic and a damn proud one. I have fallen in love with Vancouver these past few days. I don't know much about it but it looks like a laid back, cleaner Manhattan. I loved kd Lang's rendition of Leonard Cohen's Hallelujah which she sang during the opening ceremonies. She brought me to tears with her beautiful voice. I've been watching as many events as I can and I'm really enjoying the whole experience. What am I knitting while watching, you ask? Well I'll tell ya. My mommy-to-be niece is a Twilight fan and I decided to make Bella's Mittens for her. I'm really enjoying making them even though I used the wrong size needles initially and had to rip one down. My mistake and I'm over it. They're going to be gorgeous when they're done. I'll post a photo as soon as I complete one.
Ok gotta run. Snowboarding's starting soon and I gotta get my Shaun White fix on.

Congratulations, Godmother!! That's wonderful news. The hats are adorable, and that's going to be one well-dressed baby, I think.
The first time I heard of kd lang was when she sang in the '88 Olympics the last time they were in Canada - her voice is amazing, isn't it? Enjoy the rest of the Olympics.. go Shaun!
I LOVE those hats! And you really are a speed knitter. Yes, really! Fantastic news that it's a girl because there are SO many more patterns for girls. Especially kids patterns. Mazel Tov, Knitting Knoobie!

i Love those hats!
Getting a niece invited some pink into my life, too. Not a huge fan and don't intend to do all pink, but some is fun!
Love those hats! I have the yarn for the berry hat in one of my knitting bags, just waiting to be cast on. :)
Excellent work! Love these hats - I've been looking at the tomato one on Ravelry for ages and am spurred on again after seeing yours here. My friend is due in a few weeks but doesn't want to know the sex of the baby til it's born so this could be the perfect gender-neutral solution!
Thanks for sharing.
Those hats could not possibly be any cuter. I wish I had a baby so you cold make some for me!
