I'm giving away one book by Sally Harding entitled Fast Knits, Fat Needles. It's a sweet book that has a lot of different accessory projects, especially bags. Since I don't have a lot of the yarn she calls for in her book, I'm giving away a skein of Cascade Alpaca Lace yarn. It's a lovely yarn I purchased a while ago and I have several skeins in hopes of, one day, making a shawl out of it. But I'm not much of a lace knitter yet so I thought I'd share this with one of my readers!
I always like to have a theme for my contests but I'm at a loss. Just tell me what you're working on and leave a link to the pattern, if it's free and you have a link.
I'm looking forward to seeing what you're all working on these days. I'm always open to being inspired. I'll be announcing a winner sometime this weekend.
Good luck!

70 Talk to me:
Good morning!!!
A pair of fingerless gloves for my son's girlfriend,
a pair of socks,
a scarf using black bulky yarn and a colorful sock yarn knitted together.
Sorry, I don't have the patterns on line!
Have a good warm; try to stay warm!!
Syl
Greetings from snowy Michigan!! I just cast on the Casino shawl. It's not a free pattern but you can find it here: http://www.knitspot.com/knitting_pattern/casino-shawl-p-181.html. I am calling it the cast on from hell as I had to cast on 305 stitches provisionally. It took me the better part of 2 hours I think to get it done. I am also working on some plain old socks. I always have some socks on the needles.
Dawn
Hi, thanks for the contest!! I'm working on a shawl. Here's the link but it's not a free pattern.
http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/simple-things
I'm finishing a hat for my hubby (for the second time...) and am looking forward to casting on my first lace project soon!
I just did my first give away...what fun to learn about all the readers lurking on my little space. Thanks for hosting yours!
i'm working on a Calpotis - you can get the free pattern on Ravelry. Mine will be smaller than the written instructions. I'm forever working on stranded mittens - my new obsession.
thanks.
I love contests!
Right now I'm working on a stash-busting afghan. No particular pattern, just row after row of garter stitch, changing color of yarn each row. It's turning out much nicer than I anticipated, but it's going to take *forever* to finish. I need to find another project to switch off with it.
I'm attempting crochet and doing this game for my kids:
http://tinyurl.com/yb8w9re
At the moment it looks like one of the kids made it. Maybe I'll stick to knitting!
Ohh how fun! I'm working on recreating a hand knit sweater a friend of mine found at a thrift store. I've never done a recreation before so It's a little scary! So far so good, though!
I'm working on a pair of fingerless gloves knit in a fingering weight/sock yarn. I'm using a cashmere/merino blend -- so so soft -- from knititupyarns.com
Pattern is free too. Uses a chart, but the designer was nice enough to email me line-by-line instructions for the cable pattern, since I'm terrible at reading charts.
http://www.ravelry.com/projects/yarnpanda/cancans
I've also ventured into hand-dying yarn in my crock pot with food dye. It's a lot of fun, and I can't wait to knit up a skein to see how the pattern plays out.
Good morning! I am working on a slouchy hat for myself (winging it with the pattern) using yarn I purchased from: http://www.spincycleyarns.com/
Cheers,
Jen
I am working on the kit 'Knitters' Handy Carry-All' from Ravelry. They normally sell the pattern after all the kits are sold. It is a lovely bag that teaches you how to do several different sort of pockets as you go: welts, afterthoughts, horizontal and vertical slash pockets. Great learning kit, but there is sewing involved. They do send you the fabric and interfacing that you need though, but you do have to buy your own button. (But I would rather do that anyway)
Great Contest!
I'm knitting a pink scarf in Lion Brand Wool ease yarn. the pattern is called Wave Ribbed Scarf.
Here is the link- it's the 7th one on this page!

This is the first day I've had internet in two months and this is what's posted? You really are awesome to be doing giveaways like this!
Because of the lack of internet, I just finished up a pair of hats for my husband and brother, and I'm currently working on two pair of plain socks with a wider cuff for my grandma, the Nereid fingerless gloves (http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/nereid-fingerless-gloves) and the Cafe neck cosy (http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/cafe-neck-cosy). Well, attempting to on the last one, I keep slipping back over to knitting ribbing instead of the Brioche stich, which I've never done before ^_^;
And I'd just like to say I love your blog! I've been following it on my phone for two months now :)
I'm working on fingerless gloves with a mitten snap cover (Sorry no pattern) I'm adapting a vintage pattern my grandmother loved, with a modern twist. A thick warm beanie in khaki sitting next to me just finished, for my son in Iraq.
I'm currently working on socks, clogs, sweaters for the grands. I just finished "My So-Called Scarf." I also have the makings for the "Ice Queen" from knitty.com.

Hi I'm working on a lot but today I only worked on the coral (http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/coral-2) It's not really free unless you can find the Danish magasine Boligliv. I'm a beginner knitter, but have only recently started up again. I'm working on a little stuffed big for my kids, and hope to knit some wristwarmers (before winter ends!!). I've really enjoyed your blog since come across it recently!
I am working on the felted knit slippers that were the 'rage' a month or so ago. I should have done the continuous knit version; the seaming together is my stumbling block or my procrastination item.

Hi, Susie.
I am knitting a pair of socks and started a sweater for my daughter. The sweater is a free pattern called Aurora Shawl Collar Cardigan. I am a fairly new knitter and this is my second sweater. It is published by Valley Yarns and designed by Kirsten Hipsky. I really like the way the sweater looks and I hope I can knit it. Stay warm.

Damn, I just deleted my long comment! okay, that means shorter comment.
Last night I finally cast on for Colonnade a knitty pattern. I think Fall 09. I'd been hoping to get a more rustic yarn for it, but I just couldn't hold out any longer. So, I'm using alpaca and silk garden. I hope it works out.
love,
pbk
