Destash Sock Of The Every Other Month Club

I emptied my drawer of all my sock yarn to pick out six skeins for our Destash Sock Of The Every Other Month Club. Geez, that's a mouthful. Well here's a photo of the yarns I chose.

The colors are true but I had to screw it up by cutting off the top of the picture. One day I'll get a good photo. Maybe.
Starting top row I have Jitterbug colorway tapis 72 then J. Knits colorway Rhinebeck. Next row first is Bare Sheep Yarn Company, on Etsy, colorway Peach Ice Cream. Then we have Aussie Sock WS23 Atlantic Weaves, next is Socks That Rock color Koi Koi and finally Aussie Sock WS01 Peach Cobbler.
Aren't they a lovely bunch? I tried to get a bit of everything in so far as manufacturers and colors. I learned that I don't have a lot of solid color sock yarn which I don't think is a bad thing. I also learned that my brain retains silly information, like remembering where and when I purchased every skein of sock yarn I have, yet I can't remember where the hell I put my glasses.

still don't get the fascination with sock yarn. i have some in my stash and i have no idea what i am going to do with it - i don't make socks after all.

those are some pretty colors! is 1 skein enough to make a pair (am i woefully ignorant of sock yarn etiquette?)

I'm still on the beginner end of the sock knitting... I have knit a whole one adult and a pair of toe up baby socks! LOL I have declared 2010 the year of knitting socks and the year of knitting for ME! Yay!

Those are ALL pretty yarns...have never tried any of them. Can you talk a bit about how each one feels please?

thanks!

BeeUtiful yarn! Love the peaches. I'm with Bev, I love sock yarn, such beautiful dye jobs, but I am so not a sock knitter. However, last year I learned that if I use fingering weight for my lace items, they get big really fast! Although I don't think I want the nylon in the lace because now that I am the proud owner of blocking wires, I want to block the s#$#@ out of those lovely lacey things.

(don't know why it won't link me through that. oh, well.)

i am knitting using some that that aussie yarn now, love the koi koi colorway. I don't think the not having solid colors for socks is weird, lol, neither do i. and i do think i could also tell you where almost every skein came from! What we retain in the brain!!

haha I allllways forget that my glasses like to fall between my dresser and bed, and sometimes spend at least 20 minutes looking...

LOVE the sock yarn! I think it's a great picture :)

I took a wayy-too-long hiatus last semester when things got crazy, but I'm so excited to be back and absolutely determined to stick with it this time!!

Came over from the rav blog hub. I think that is an amazing bunch of yarns that will make some amazing socks!

For me, this is the year of toe-up and short row heels/toes. Changing it up can be a good thing.
