Yes that does say Red Sox. Yes I am a New Yorker and a Yankee fan but Megan is from the Bahstan area (or Boston for those of you who don't speak New Englandese) and she does love her some Red Sox. Since I love her more than I hate the Red Sux, er Sox, I made these for her.

I got the pattern on
Ravelry and it was free and easy, even for me. They were knit on #5 needles so it went quick. I had to make three socks because I didn't like the way the second one came out. Then I didn't like how the third one came out and you KNOW I wasn't making a fourth so I sent her the three and told her to make a pair and a sock puppet out of them.
She and I were on the phone when she got the package which was very cool since we couldn't be together in person. I was expecting a squeal of delight but instead heard a big intake of breath and a "Oh Susie these are gorgeous." which was way better than a squeal. She is in awe of my talent. HAHA! I got her fooled!
I told her I was originally going to sew in one blue pinstripe on the inside of the toe but decided that I was going to give it with love and good wishes for her favorite team so I left out the stripe. Little does she know I'm sending all her kids Yankees tshirts. Muhahaha!
7 Talk to me:
Those are great. One of my friends made her husband a pair of Red Sox socks since the both of them like that team. Great job!
As a Mets fan, whose husband is a Yankees fan and whose brother-in-law is a Red Sox fan, I can completely appreciate your efforts and the title of your current entry! ;)
My whole family thought they were such a great idea and my friends are so in awe of you and your thoughtful gift!
I can't wait to wear them all the way to October! Live Sox or Die!!
Thanks love!

You are truly a knitting machine!! And they look GREAT!
so cute!! I love them!! And they're even sweeter since you did it despite the rivalry :)
Beautiful socks! I would have preferred the Yankee socks myself (Jersey girl) but you did a lovely job on them!
