Laizy Maizy Sock

I finally finished my sock! Yes that was singular...sock. But still it's half a pair!

Here's half of a pair of Laizy Maizy socks. I know it looks lonely but isn't it cute? I love it!
Well almost love it. I'm hating, and I do mean HATING in case that wasn't clear, the kitchener stitch. I totally jacked it up. I'm not showing you a close up of that because it's bad. Really really bad. I'm going to kindly ask Al to fix it for me because there's no way in hell I'll be able to fix it up.
I really like the JaWoll Silk Superwash yarn and can't wait to finish up the other sock. Needless to say, I think I'll be doing a three needle cast off for the next sock. Or I could practice the kitchener stitch. Who we kidding? Three needle cast off it is.

It looks great from here! I haven't tried either socks or kitchener stitch yet, must give it a go.

It is a lovely sock. I don't think you need to make another one if you don't want to. You can give it to a golfer for one of their clubs.

You can try grafting - isn't that a little easier than kitchener? Who is kitchener anyway?

Cute sock! I know how to kitchener, and I really can't be bothered. I just decrease down to about 8 sts, and then run the yarn through and pull it tight. Works every time. Haven't tried 3 needle bind off on a toe; does it leave a bothersome ridge? Do you put it on the inside or the outside? Inquirin' minds wanna know!

It's Gorgeous!! Great job, Knoobie! Btw, the kitchner stitch really isn't so bad. Think of how many knit stitches you've done in comparison. I'm sure yours looks great!

I think it looks great!! But knitting a stitch you don't like is murder... only one sock to go, though!! and even though I don't know what a three needle cast off is... it sounds like you can do that instead! so that's good :)

I'm sure you know this by now, but just in case, you probably don't want to use a 3-needle bind-off for sock toes. I think it would leave an uncomfortable seam. Aside from Kitchener which is just another word for grafting, you could do star toes, or the method mentioned by the other poster. There's also something called 'easy toe.' And of course, if you do toe-ups the cast-on methods abound and there's nary a Knithener stitch in sight. (yes, because you are on vaca, I'm resorting to leaving a 2nd comment on an old post. Actually, I'm surfing your blog for something specific.)

Welcome home!
