I'm a reader. Not only a reader but a voracious reader. I'm always reading at least one book. In third grade, I was already at college level in reading. I would walk home from middle school, through the streets of Manhattan, reading and narrowly avoiding walking into parking meters. When I saw the Amazon Kindle I had to have one if only to stop the steady stream of books coming into our NYC sized apartment. That's what I told Glenn to justify the cost anyway. I have twenty six boxes of books down in my basement some of which I have held onto for years just in case I wanted to reread them. I've read two books this week alone.
This being said WHY DID I MISREAD THE PATTERN FOR MY SISTER'S SWEATER??? The pattern says it's supposed to be between fourteen and sixteen inches and I thought it said twenty. Maybe it's the numbers. I was never good in math.

5 Talk to me:
Oh Susie!
Knitting patterns aren't reading, they are the unraveling of evil.
LOL! I am the same way always an advit reader! I am always reading something, but sometimes I goof on the numbers of a pattern! I agree - I think it is the number thing! That is why I am an English teacher!
I used to do the reading while walking thing too. Not in NYC of course, but it didn't thrill my parent either. They were sure I was going to step out into traffic or something...must have lacked confidence in my non school related intelligence!
How has the Kindle worked out? I've wanted one, but I get most of my books from the library now and wouldn't want to buy a bunch of books in e-form and then lose them when the Kindle died or became obsolete.
I hate to be the one to point out that had it been 14 or 16 inches, one might have enough of the beige to complete the project without a Charlie Brown stripe. Just saying. :)
You goof!
hahahahahahaha ohh I didn't see that coming.
I really want the kindle-- but I'm a total book romantic. And I know kindle users get so tired of this comment, but curling up with a paperback just seems different than curling up with the little computer... then again, I used to say the same kind of thing about switching from film to digital cameras and now I don't know what I'd do without my digital :)
Good luck with the sweater!!!! We've all done it!!!!
