Books, Books & More Books!

Al and I went to Borders the other day to have a lil sit n knit of our own. We had a great time, as we always do together, and we got our knit on. I had a lookie loo around the store and found this:
A pattern book. I just looked through the photos and decided to get it. It had a few fingerless mitt patterns that I liked and some other nice gems that look like they'll fulfill the instant gratification jones that I can't seem to shake.
I've decided to put aside all fiction books until I put a dent in my knitting books. I have a nice pile, or two, of knitting books and just figured it's time to prioritize and get some of them read. Right now I'm reading Knitting Rules! by Stephanie Pearl-McPhee. She's great fun to read and I learn so much from her. Oh and she was on Knitty Gritty this week making socks. I had recorded it not knowing she'd be on and when I saw her I was so excited! She's so different than what I had pictured from her writing and photos. And watching her knit? Her hands move so quickly and she makes it look so easy. I'm like a bull in a china shop comparatively.
After I finish Knitting Rules! I have about four other knitting books to read then I can once again pick up my Kindle and read some other stuff. I think I have about fifty books queued up there to read.
I'm goint to ask Al to take a look at the sweater for my sister and see if I have enough yarn. If not, it's going to become the striped cardi it's supposed to be. Sorta. It'll have one big ole brown stripe across the middle. Like Charlie Brown. Oy. It's the thought that counts, right?
Oh and if anyone who works at Borders reads this please get nicer chairs in the cafe. The ones you have now suck.

This is one of the books I had considered getting you for Christmas! The stuff in it looks adorable! I hope you like it, they have a whole series of these one skein books.

Oh, and that's why you don't sit in the cafe to knit, you move over to the book section to their comfy, squishy arm chairs. Well, at least that's what I would do.

I visited NYC about 20 years ago but that was such a long time ago. Still, I'm very excited.
