In The Beginning, There Was A Sleeve

Or part of one anyway. Here's the beginning of my Treeline Striped Cardigan.

Yeah no stripes. I don't think my sister is a stripey type and I thought for my first sweater I'd make it as easily as possible so I'm not dissuaded from doing it again. I really like the colors and the feel of the yarn. The only thing I'm having an issue with is the varying thickness, or lack thereof, of the yarn. Al told me it's not a big deal but I'm just hoping it doesn't make it look like a mistake. I'm really enjoying doing it although it does get a tad monotonous at times.
Needless to say I'm doing other things at the same time. I made my husband another beanie but it was too small (see previous entry for clarification) but I'm sure there's another head in this house it will fit. I DID find a pattern that is guaranteed to fit him! It's the Dublin Beanie. The last line on the page is "Enjoy hat that actually fits Big Irish Head! :)" That's my husband to a T!!! So I'm working on that now and hope to have it done by the end of the day.
Apparently the handwarmers are a big success! Oh not with Ms. Connelly, she hasn't gotten them yet. Everyone else wants a pair! Glenn said he wanted a pair, Bean wants a pair and Patch wants a pair! They're an easy knit so that should be fun.
Today I'm going to attempt to go through all my closets and do a yarn round up. I found a woman on Craigslist who is a teacher in Brooklyn looking for yarn. I'm gonna get a bunch together to give to her and free up some space in our closets. I got a lot of the yarn on Craigslist when I was learning how to knit. Most of it is yarn I'd never use but it was useful when I was learning. Just gonna pay it forward now.

I like you're version better than the original.

I've been trying to choose a pattern for me... (as opposed to finishing the shrug I began last year.)
