Another Day, Another Hat

Here's the Dublin Beanie made specifically for "big Irish heads." Her words not mine. It's the London Beanie just modified. I have to say this was my favorite hat to knit. I got the yarn from my Craigslist stash. It was 100% merino but I'm not sure of the brand name. It's thick and soft and warm. I did it in less than a day. And the fit? THE FIT??? Perfection! The other hats I've made him fit oddly because the modifications were made by umm...me. I'm thinking I may never be able to knit unless I use a pattern. It really is just great and makes me feel good that I made something so perfect for someone I love.
He put it on yesterday and hasn't taken it off since. Except to shower, sleep and eat. He even wore it out to work today! I'll be scrounging through my stash to make him another one really soon. Now he wants a dark one so I'll have to see what I have buried in my little, or not so little, bag.
