Happy New Year! Or 2009....Bring It!

This was a difficult year for me. Like all years, it had it's ups and downs. Unfortunately, the year started with one of the biggest downs of my life. The death of my father in January. It cast a shadow upon everything we did this year especially the holidays. Don't get me wrong, we had some great things happen this year but in the back of my mind there was always a whisper of "Too bad Daddy wasn't here to share this with us." That will always be there, I know, but the first year is the hardest. Needless to say I'm glad to say goodbye to 2008. Sorry to be such a downer but it's been in my head for a while now and I just wanted to get it out.
Ok now onto the good stuff! A new year, new beginnings and more knitting. I've decided that I'm going to make a new year's resolution for knitting. I resolve to make socks this year. That started out as my ultimate goal when I started knitting but I didn't realize how much more there was to knitting when I began. I'm still a tad intimidated by the ole DPNs so I think this is a good knitting goal to achieve this year. So...socks for '09!
I want to wish you all, yes all three of my loyal readers, a very happy healthy and prosperous New Year!

I'm so sorry about your Dad - the frist year is always the hardest. I hope you have a wonderful 2009 (and good luck with the socks - they are so much fun!)
