So Far, So Good

Here's how far I've come thus far with the Pythagorean hat. I think it's about halfway done. I'd done about a quarter of the hat before then ripped it down only to find I didn't have to rip it. I thought I'd made a mistake but I hadn't. Now I know to look at the hat I'm making more carefully next time. Seems with every project I learn something new. I'm liking this hat a lot but I don't like having to look at directions constantly. I wish there were an easier way than knitting and reading. I know that all patterns with a design have very specific line by line directions so I guess it's something I'll have to get over. Ok piss and moan time is over.
I'm searching for my next project. I'd love to make a sweater for my sister but there are a few problems. She lives 1200 miles away so I can't measure her. She lives in Florida and is always cold. ALWAYS. I'll have to do more reading and find out if it's even possible to approximate someone's size to make them something. Also, it'll have to be a very easy design because..you know...I'm not that good. Yet. Also, I have about 10 skeins of a lovely red mohair so I can use that but I don't see many patterns for mohair sweaters. I think I'll find something a little easier in the meantime. I also have to do a lot more reading. I bought about 4 how to books but haven't gotten past the first few chapters yet. I love to read. Just not directions.
Oh also do you see the little stitch marker? It's so cute! It's one of a batch which I got it at Etsy from a buyer called SilverRiverStitches which you can find here.
